Additional Tests

WOMEN

Find out about your fertility potential using our MiFertility Test (Female) -a detailed evaluation of your fertility using advanced ultrasound performed by our Fertility Specialist to diagnose various pathologies which may impact on your fertility and find out about the reserve of eggs within your ovaries (ovarian reserve). This is usually followed by a consultation with our Specialist to provide you with advice on how best to deal with your fertility issues.

MEN

Find out about your fertility potential by performing the MiFertility Test (Male)-this includes a semen test followed by a consultation with our Fertility Specialists to learn about the result and how you can improve your fertility potential.

COUPLE

All couples are unique-with unique circumstances and factors affecting their fertility. Find out about your fertility potential as a couple by attending our MiFertility (Couple) test- this combines the MiFertility Test for both partners, along with a consultation with our Fertility Specialist to explore the various factors which may be influencing your fertility as a couple. This detailed evaluation of your fertility is designed to provide you advice on future treatment strategies to enhance your chances of natural conception or if indicated, recommending the best assisted reproduction treatment (IVF/ICSI/IUI) strategy for you.

ADDITIONAL TESTS

The MiFertility Tests are designed to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your fertility potential. Based on their individual circumstances, some of our patients may benefit from additional tests, and our Fertility Specialist will advice you on these. The additional tests include:

Saline Infusion Sonogram (SIS) / Hystero Contrast Sono Salpingogram (HyCoSy)

This is an ultrasound guided test to evaluate the cavity of the womb for any structural abnormalities by instillation of fluid (saline) through a special catheter threaded through the cervix. If testing of tubes is required, then a contrast agent can be used to assess for any blockade of the tubes.

Hysteroscopy

This is the gold standard for evaluating the cavity of the womb for any structural abnormalities using a specialized telescope. This allows treatment of any pathology like fibroids/polyps affecting the lining of the womb.

Laparoscopy

This is the gold standard for evaluating the abdominal and pelvic cavity-it is a key hole surgery to evaluate the uterus, tubes and ovaries for any pathology( like endometriosis/adhesions/blocked tubes)  and provide surgical treatment to optimise the chances of natural conception as well increase the likelihood of IVF being successful.

Sperm DNA Fragmentation:

A proportion of men with suboptimal fertility outcomes from previous treatment may benefit from have their sperm tested for DNA fragmentation.
